Baby Dolls FAQs

What are Kewpies?

The Kewpie dolls and figurines were based on the illustrations of a woman named Rose O’Neill. They were small dolls that became extremely popular in the early 1900s. Today the early dolls are very collectible. This is especially true if they are signed or bisque. They can easily be worth thousands of dollars today.

Who are the eight major characters of Disney's Princess line?

The main characters of this line are Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, and Mulan. Respectively, they first appeared in these films: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), Cinderella (1950), Sleeping Beauty (1959), The Little Mermaid (1989), Beauty and the Beast (1991), Aladdin (1992), Pocahontas (1995), and Mulan (1998).

What effect does restoration have on the value of a doll?

When restoration is unnecessary or poorly done, then it can reduce the value of a doll. However, well done restoration on a damaged doll can work to maintain its value. It will also increase its ability to sell. An extremely damaged doll will definitely have its value brought up.
