Doll Accessories

Doll accessories are often described by the scale in which they are provided. This is particularly true of collectible varieties. Generally, adult collectible scales are presented at 1:12, or twelfth scale.

The doll accessories for children will commonly be presented at 1:18 (eighteenth) scale. This is quite small be easy enough for a child to handle. At the same time, Ken and Barbie dolls exist at sixth scale (1:6). This is also known as "playscale." So it can be said that children's standards exist at both above and below the adult collectible standard.

Doll accessories come in many forms. Perhaps the most commonly found are the many apparel items available. Many figures will also have pets and vehicles available for purchase. Some may be outfitted with equipment for a particular job the figures may play. Homes for these miniature figures also come with their own accessories.
