Fashion Dolls

Fashion dolls primarily show off the latest trends in style. This includes popular clothing, hair styles, and cosmetics. While fashion is commonly associated with photography and magazines, these figures arose long before that time.

Originally, fashion dolls were created and decorated in an ornate matter. They first arose in Europe. Often, the royalty of one region would decorate the figure according to local styles and present it to another area. This way people could easily stay abreast of the latest styles in other locations. Holland, England, France, Italy, and Germany are a few locations which practiced this.

The fashion dolls of today are now commercially produced. This allows for them to be much more affordable. They are most commonly designed as playthings for younger children. However, some of these are created as collectibles for adults. These tend to be of a higher cost and quality.
