Princess Dolls

Princess dolls may be designed as specific story characters or they may be designed as general princesses. Fairy tales, books, video games, and movies are a few sources from where specific characters may come. A general princess will often simply have the accessories with which princesses are associated. Tiaras, ballroom shoes, and ornate gowns are a few examples of such things.

Often, princess dolls are associated with stereotypical feminine colors and attributes. These include pinks, purples, and pastels. However, more and more alternative options have become available as first world culture moves through more and more diversified stances.

The most popular princess dolls of today are those which come from Disney. The company has been working with such themes for over seventy years. More recently, in the year 2000, they created a specific princess line from both old and new characters. The major ones within it include Snow White, Aurora, Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, Jasmine, Pocahontas, and Mulan.
